Water

Water, water, everywhere, nor any drop to drink...

- Samuel Taylor Coleridge, 1798

In Canada we have 9% of the world's accessible fresh water within our own borders. Clean Nova Scotia recognizes that human beings are the stewards of this valuable resource. Ninety percent of the water that enters our homes, either from a well or from a municipal water treatment system, leaves as wastewater with some degree of contamination. This comes from toilets, showers and baths, laundry, and our yards. Our water programs have been designed to address water conservation and the benefits of proper water management as they relate to all components of the ecosystem.
