Sustainable Fleet - Pilot Project
The Sustainable Fleet pilot project is working with Nova Scotia municipalities and utilities to improve vehicle fleet efficiency; to reduce fuel consumption, greenhouse gas emissions, and business costs. Participating fleet managers and operators receive free consultation, training and resources to produce measureable efficiency improvements.
The program will deliver fleet energy efficiency through education, technology, outreach, and driver awareness initiatives. Clean Nova Scotia’s Sustainable Fleet pilot project is funded by Natural Resources Canada ecoENERGY for Fleets, and runs until March 31, 2011.
The knowledge and tools gained from this pilot project will be used as appropriate to improve the fuel efficiency of other fleets who are interested. Measurable results will be directly translated into reductions of GHG emissions.
