Enviro Water Technologies

Enviro Water Technologies bills itself, "The Future of Water Treatment." The company is proud to be members of the Water Quality Association, the Better Business Bureau, the Halifax Chamber of Commerce, and now, Clean Nova Scotia.  Enviro Water Technologies offers customers an exclusive line of environmentally friendly solutions for treating water. They encourage and educate all to treat their water in the most responsible manner.

 

Their newest green technology products include No-Salt Softeners that have no chemicals, and do not waste electricity or water; iron, sulphur, manganese filters with no salt or chemicals required; Ultrafiltration, which is 100% recyclable and saves over 50 gallons of water versus old style; and bottle-less coolers--no more plastic bottles in our landfills!Enviro Water Technologies knows that water quality is not going to improve as our earth is abused, and that in the future, in -home water treatment will be required even more than today.

Credit Union Atlantic

As a full-service financial institution, Credit Union Atlantic (CUA) is the largest credit union in Nova Scotia, with over $200 million in assets, and over 14,100 customer-owners. CUA has approximately 85 professional and knowledgeable employees, and is comprised of six branches and a corporate office in the Halifax Regional Municipality.Credit Union Atlantic has been meeting the needs of both individuals and businesses throughout HRM for fifty-nine years.

 

Credit Union Atlantic is a strong supporter of HRM community-based events and organizations. As a customer-owned financial institution, they work to improve the communities they serve though monetary donations as well as volunteer support and fundraising amongst our employee team. They focus on the areas of health, children and youth, arts/culture and education. They support environmental initiatives as well, both through community giving and through product features such as their Go Green Car Loans -- low interest rate car loans designed for the trade-in or purchase of new, fuel-efficient vehicles.

 

CUA has invited Clean Nova Scotia to present to their staff on several topics, including home energy efficiency and the DriveWiser program we deliver for Conserve Nova Scotia.

Mountain Equipment Co-Op

As a co-operative, MEC exists to serve the needs of its members. MEC products are built with purpose, people, and the planet in mind. MEC strives to be a fully sustainable company. The Halifax store is one of the few buildings Wilsons heats with biofuel (Clean NS is another). The MEC website details their policies around ethical sourcing, development of sustainable products and the great respect the co-op holds for the outdoors. This includes statements such as, "Innovation in product design not only ensures high function in our gear but success in our journey towards environmental sustainability. By choosing lower impact materials and production techniques, we are working to reduce our ecological footprint on the planet."

 

MEC has donated to Clean Nova Scotia in the past, and supported the Green Communities Conference we held in the spring through the donation of bags. The staff has volunteered and taken part in CNS activities.

MT&L Public Relations

MT&L is a leading public relations firm with clients throughout Atlantic Canada. As partners with Canada's largest public relations firm, NATIONAL, their coast-to-coast network is broad and deep. In the past, they have supported Clean Nova Scotia with a Christmas campaign donation, and also served as a presenting sponsor for James Hoggan's appearance at the Green Communities Canada conference (March 2007) which Clean Nova Scotia hosted.

Bebbington Industries

Bebbington Industries is a manufacturer of cleaning and floor care products for the consumer, institutional and industrial markets. Their expertise is the manufacture of cleaning products that are environmentally responsible and hypoallergenic. Bebbington's products are designed to reduce the environmental problems and health risks that are associated with the manufacture, distribution, use and disposal of cleaning products. They strive to achieve these goals by implementing strict environmental policies on their formulations, manufacturing procedures and practices, selection of packaging materials, and by the implementation of recycling programs for their packaging.

 

Bebbington offers two lines of EcoLogo certified cleaning products: Green Knight, an institutional line sold to schools, government agencies and to many private companies; and Down East Cleaning Products, available through supermarkets, specialty stores and health food stores in Atlantic Canada.

 

Bebbington Industries has supported Clean Nova Scotia regularly. Through three iterations of our Tox-Free program, they have provided product samples; we've also benefitted from Down East samples provided for other programs, including Flush-Less and the Environmental Home Assessment Program.

CPPI (the Canadian Petroleum Products Institute)

The Canadian Petroleum Products Institute (CPPI) is an industry association representing major Canadian companies involved in the refining, distribution, and/or marketing of petroleum products, as well as, production and sales of asphalt, and environmental remediation. The members of the Canadian Petroleum Products Institute are dedicated to continuous efforts to improve the compatibility of their operations and products with the environment while economically supplying high quality products and services to consumers. They recognize their responsibility to work with the public, the government, and others to manufacture and market refined petroleum products in an environmentally sound manner while protecting the health and safety of employees, customers and the public.

CPPI has been a supporter of and contributor to Clean Nova Scotia's home energy programs and our Climate Change Centre for many years. CPPI is one example of how CNS seeks to form partnerships with all organizations to work toward a common goal: a cleaner Nova Scotia, and a better world.

Farnell Packaging

Located in Burnside Industrial Park in Dartmouth, Farnell Packaging Limited, in business for over forty years, is a custom manufacturer of polyethylene and copolyester films, bags, sheets and pressure-sensitive labels. Farnell Packaging's products are sold throughout the North American market and all of its quality systems are registered under ISO9001:2000.

 

Farnell has been a proud supporter of the Great Nova Scotia Pick Me Up for many years--in fact, as many years as anyone here can remember! They supply the recognizable bags that help us clean communities across this province.

Canadian Association of Foodservice Professionals

The focus of the Canadian Association of Foodservice Professionals is ongoing professional development of individuals in the industry. CAFP offers excellent educational programs at our branch meetings and our annual national conference to help foodservice professionals become familiar with current standards and trends. CAFP also provides all industry professionals opportunities to attain professional credentialing with the Credentialed Foodservice Executive (CFE) Program. The Canadian Association of Foodservice Professionals is a fun and dynamic association that provides opportunities for foodservice professionals to meet and mingle, educate and share, mentor and grow.
