Volunteer Opportunities at CNS

Volunteers are the lifeblood of most non-profit organizations and Clean Nova Scotia is no exception. Since our inception in 1988, we would not have achieved the success we have had without the many dedicated volunteers who have offered their time, skills, and resources.

Volunteer Positions at Rally and Showcase

Hello ladies and gentlemen.  We have a list of jobs that we need filled for June 5th.  If you have any interest in participating or would like a specific job below, please notify me asap.  Also, if you or your friends might like to help out, we have a limited number of JustUs! bags of coffee and boxes of tea for volunteers.  (read:  bribe)

We need three (3) people to be trained on how to operate the diagnostic tool which will record the rally car fuel use.  This is not difficult but it is a very important job and will require the volunteer to be at the event from 9:30 am to 1pm.

We need four (4) people to greet, direct, and count visitors to the event.  There are two entrances.  If someone wanted to volunteer for the entire event that is wonderful, but if we have four volunteers, the shifts will be for approximately 2 hours each.

We need two (2) people to help monitor the barbeque and recycling/organics/trash bins.  Auburn High School environmental club students will be hosting the barbeque and doing the lion’s share of the work.  The time commitment will be approximately 2 – 2.5 hours.

We need two (2) people to be there early and help the sponsors and display partners to set up.  You will be responsible for knowing the site layout (a map will be provided) and directing people to their area and generally assisting the set up of the event.  The time commitment will be approximately 2 – 2.5 hours.

We need one (1) person to attend to the DriveWiser display with one of our program officers.  This person will need to prepare themselves with general knowledge of the DriveWiser program and the tips/methods of reducing fuel consumption and driving related emissions.  The time commitment will be approximately 4 hours.

If you are interested in helping out, please contact me at the information below.

We’re looking forward to a fun and busy day.  It will take many hands to make this event a success.
